He turns to Bongo, who's lying on the floor watching him

Bongo is lying on the ground, watching him with alert, ears upstraight.

I do believe bangle is a lovely boy. And you can see bongo is lying 趴在on the ground，  eyes front and ears upstraight. And he seems to be thinking in a very serious way. I do not know if he has sosome other thing on his mind
