2026-3-11 If the customer wants us to send a 500 g pouch with a 22 mm spout to test, but we don't have that. How should we communicate with the customer?

You may communicate to the customer that a 16mm spout is sufficient for a 500g spout pouch, while a 22mm spout may be unnecessarily large for this application. You can also mention that 16mm is the most commonly used size in the market for this products.

Additionally, you may ask the customer why they prefer a 22mm spout and whether there are any specific filling requirements or equipment restrictions that require this size.

If we don’t have the sample, I will ask the customer why they want 22 mm.The test is mainly to check the spout quality, or to confirm which dimension is more suitable for a 500g product.

If the customer only wants to test the spout quality:
I will explain that both spouts are the same quality, and the sealing method to the bag is also identical.

If the customer just wants to know which dimension is more suitable. I will recommend that for a 500g product, 16 mm spout is the most popular and sufficient size. 22 mm spout is normally used for heavier products, such as 3L items. Besides, 22 mm is more expensive. From a cost and practical usage perspective, 16 mm is more than enough.

Unfortunately,we don’t have the 500g pouch with a 22mm spout in stock currently.
Although we don't have the 22mm size in stock, we have supplied pouches of the same weight with 16mm and 20mm spouts previously. Both sizes are also suitable for your testing needs.

Hi sir, for 500g spout pouches, 13mm and 16mm spout are the most commonly used for most of our customers. For products like sauces, detergent liquids, engine oil and so on.
22mm is the most commonly used for pouches more than 2L, like the 2L and 3L washer fluids.
We don't have spout pouch samples in stock with size similar as 500g and 22mm spout.
But it's OK to arrange a production to produce some samples.
However, could you please let us know why do you prefer to use 22mm spout for a 500g pouch?
