一次失败的客户案例

Gene is a customer from the USA, she was working on cannabis soft candy products.
Ordered shaped and child-proof zipper pouches from us.
She paid an advance payment 50%, then we arranged the production.
As she was hurry on this project, we sent by air on her instructions for the first batch, and she has paid for this batch.
But after that, we have delayed about 10 days because the production process was really slow. After all the bags were finished, we arranged the shipping by air directly without a balance payment and promised to take the shipping cost. Just want to show our honesty.
Then the accident occurred, after the last batch arrived at Gene's company, she delayed the payment for a long time. Finally, she told me that her partner spent the money on packaging for another project, that makes her company with no money for the packaging balance payment.
1.  The second batch air shipping cost is much higher than my expectation, because I calculated the volume and weight in a unexactly way.
2.  Follow the principle, arrange production after the advance payment, and arrange the shipping after the balance payment.
When we start to break the rule, even only a small step, we will be in a high risk enviroment.
