Many people have telephone call phobia, and I am one of them. I used to keep my phone on silent mode for 24 hours a day just because of this fear.
The sudden ringing of a phone always makes me nervous and flustered. Unlike texting, a phone call demands immediate reply. I have no time to organize my thoughts, so I worry about saying something wrong or awkward. That’s why I try my best to avoid making or answering calls.
I much prefer slow text communication. It lets me express myself clearly with less pressure. Though it is a small problem, I still hope to get used to phone calls little by little. |
